I know that there is heavy controversy about the redesign of the Elf models so I figured we would give you a sneak peak at the new player models. They are slightly rounded and as you can see, they all have quivers. What Ranger doesn’t? Notice the highly-detailed texture work on the character armor, and the hair styles are somewhat shiny but workable.
Just kidding! I have been watching the boards and I know that new character models are a hot topic. Once we have some screens I will make sure they are sent out for the public opinion to be heard.

Good one Jourdain but what about the none rangers are they going to get quivers as well?
I hope so cause with all the trade skills and quests my chanter has doing she needs more storage space.

New models are definitely one of the things players see as crucial to recruiting new players to the game, they are an extemely fundemental part of engaging with your on screen persona.
Aesthetics are hard to get “right enough” and artistic tastes are widely varied.
I very much prefer the Luclin “style” which aimed for realism, though many preferred the old pre-luclin graphics, & there are also fans of eq2’s models (even the SoGA ones), but if the new models allow enough customisation to be able to reflect both the luclin & pre luclin attributes you’ll be on a winning path.
My only advice is get some professional animation work done, the drakkin & “new human” animations were really bad, & didn’t flow very well, & lacked realism in what you would expect those models, i.e they looked pretty good till they moved.

I’m actually ok with those! Mix in some of the LEGO star wars and LEGO batman figures, and we have ourselves a deal!

On a tangent, Lego Indiana Jones looks sweet, btw…

If you can go back and lego-ize the drakkin, I’m sure 98% of the players would think it’s an upgrade too ! Legos are less androgyneous than drakkin =) And they’ve got more armor and hair options!
Oh and lego indiana jones, looks awsome =D You’re never too old to play with legos.

Oops, didn’t meant to submit.
My real comment is that I hope the dev team is taking serious consideration to whether they intend to leave the older models accessable, as was done when Luclin was released.
Many older players (myself included, EQer on and off since release) are very defensive about their old models and zones.
Little to no animation additions have been made over the years to the old models, thus I keep up the hope that we’ll be able to continue to use them, as well as seeing some interesting newer models emerge.
Thanks!
